comments?
Berlin artists' journal, low-tech, high-minded & self-serving.
Self centeredness in word, image, animation
. Journeys into subcultures; making & presenting art; club culture & electronica. Now with lots of useless time consuming extras.

Live Poster

S t the Sony Center at Berlin's Potsdamer Platz we were present at the "Art Essenz" mini art fair again, trying to educate the artistically ignorant. Of our glamorous art duo only Paulus wanted to take part, I personally hate the Berlin Sony Center, it evokes extremist thought of the UNA Bomber kind in me somehow..

I had to come anyway, and inspired by my Gigposters submission and to while away depression and boredom, I'd thought of painting live stencil posters, polish style..

Live-painting is more fun to do as I'd expected: I just couldn't stop painting, it was also so boring, sanitized and uneventful otherwise that I feared being driven to drink otherwise. A wise decision as I now don't have a hangover, but instead a huge heap of new paperworks. So huge and unpopular that it almost drives one to drink again.. Time to make some more.

Whenever a friend of us visited, standing idly by, just talking and gazing, a crowd gathered. Whenever I looked up from my spot on the floor, there were always: many lesbians somehow, many old farts from out of town too, and once a dude with a hard on. Yes, art can be quite arousing.

I felt like a real arty farty artist at times, but the results are what counts.

Also we have been making "disco sucks again plates". We took old plates with seventies ornamentation on them and overpainted them with scratchy depictions of neo-punk Hollywood street trash. They look absolutely smashing, and we have subsequently been asked to make some portraying Dj Clé and Mike Vamp of the Berlin electro act "the Martini Brothers".
